These enjoyable and educational classes include live animal demonstrations, interactive discussions, inquiry-based demonstrations and experimentation, hands-on nature exploration, and guided tours of the Zoo. Our program is designed to supplement your home curriculum by creating connections with science and the natural world in an engaging and interactive environment.
While our classes focus primarily on concepts from life science, ecology, and environmental science, we will also incorporate math, engineering, language arts, social studies, art, and Nature Play as appropriate. In each class, we promote 21st Century Skills, including critical thinking, collaboration and teamwork, creativity, imagination, and problem-solving.
Programs will be offered according to the following itinerary for 2022-2023, with 2 days of 1st/2nd grade instruction each month, 3 days of 3rd-5th grade instruction each month, 2 days of 6th-8th grade instruction each quarter, and 1 day of 9th-12th grade instruction each quarter.
