Regular Zoo Hours

9am to 5pm: Daily

*Please note, the Children’s Zoo and Kudzoo Cafe will be closed all day on September 14
*Please note, the Children’s Zoo, Kudzoo Cafe and Gift Shop will be closed all day on September 15
*Please note, the Zoo will close at 3:00pm on September 15
*Please note, the Children’s Zoo and Kudzoo Cafe will close at 3pm on September 21
*Please note, the Tails of Africa will close at 4:00pm on September 23

Protective Life Carousel Rides

9am - 4:45pm — Every Day

Cost: $3.50 plus tax

Take a spin on the Zoo’s animal-themed carousel. There are an array of animals to choose from – a giraffe, rhinoceros, gorilla, cheetah, frog, zebra and many more. Pick your favorite and enjoy the ride!

Red Diamond Express Train Ride

9am - 4:45pm — Every Day

Cost: $3.50 plus tax

Junior League of Birmingham – Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo Goat Walk

9:30am — Every Day

Kiwanis Giraffe Encounter & Feeding

Predator Zone (Lion Training)

This exciting experience puts you face-to-face with African lions. Watch how the keepers care for the lions during this narrated presentation. Predator Zone features a training area where zookeepers and visitors are on the same level as the animals. See behind-the-scenes training that the keepers conduct on a daily basis to care for the Zoo’s lions.
