Daily Activities

Below are all of the regularly scheduled activities at the Zoo. If you’re looking for special events, head over to our Events page. If you’re looking for additional information about your visit, check out our Visitor Info page.

Regular Zoo Hours

9am to 5pm: Monday through Sunday

Please note the below early closings. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause:

  • On September 13, the Children’s Zoo, Carousel, Splash Pad, and Nourish205 will be closed all day.
  • On September  14, the Children’s Zoo, Carousel, Splash Pad, Nourish and Gift Shop will be closed all day.
  • On September 14, the Zoo will close at 3pm and reopen for ZooGala 2018
  • On September 25, the Children’s Zoo and Nourish 205 will close at 4pm
  • On September 28, the Children’s Zoo, Nourish 205, and the gift shop will close at 3pm

Please note we are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

Protective Life Carousel Rides

9am - 4:45pm — Every Day

Cost: $3.50 plus tax

Children under two, receive a free ride on the carousel with a paid accompanying adult. Children two and older must have a ride ticket.

Full Moon BBQ Wild Slide

9am - 4:45pm — Every Day

Cost: $3.50 plus tax

Riders must be 4 years of age and 40 inches tall to ride

Red Diamond Express Train Ride

9am - 4:45pm — Every Day

Cost: $3.50 plus tax

Goat Walk

9:30am — Every Day

Schaeffer Eye Center Lorikeet Aviary

10am - 4pm — Saturday, Sunday
10am - 2pm — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

$2 plus tax, weather dependent

Sea Lion Training

10am — Every Day
2pm — Every Day

Kiwanis Giraffe Encounter

10am - 3pm — Saturday, Sunday

Predator Zone (Lion Training)

11:30am — Saturday, Sunday
3pm — Saturday, Sunday

This exciting experience puts you face-to-face with African lions. Watch how the keepers care for the lions during this narrated presentation. Predator Zone features a training area where zookeepers and visitors are on the same level as the animals. See behind-the-scenes training that the keepers conduct on a daily basis to care for the Zoo’s lions.
