PikaZOO – A Pokémon Go Event This Thursday at the Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo is inviting the community to an all-new special event, PikaZOO – A Pokémon Go event this Thursday, August 25 from 5:30-7:30pm. Guests are invited to enjoy 2 hours of non-stop lures at the Zoo’s 25 Pokéstops, and battle one another at the Zoo’s 2 gyms.  All Zoo pathways will be open, animals will not be on exhibit. A special Poké Express train ride will be offered for $1 where attendees can hop on board and hatch Poké eggs while they ride.

In addition, GameStop will provide free charging stations for players, Wii U consoles equipped with Pokkén Tournament to play at the Zoo, giveaways and more. For more information on the event, to read the Zoo’s Pokémon Go Players Guide, and to purchase tickets, visit birminghamzoo.com.

This event is $5 for admission, and train rides are $1. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as you take on the Pokémon at the Zoo!

*Other attractions will not be open. Inside exhibits will not be open. Dino Discovery is included in the $5 admission price. Half-price Pokémon Go admission cannot be used on nighttime events.
