Zoo Camps

Zoo Camps at the Birmingham Zoo are educational and encourage active learning through games, age-appropriate, hands-on science, animal encounters, and nature play for students ages Kindergarten up to 12th grade! Rich in STEM-based explorations, these camps engage the natural curiosity of a child and allow ample opportunity to practice critical emerging science skills. Zoo Camp is a great way to experience all the Zoo has to offer, while engaging campers in age-appropriate content geared toward our mission of inspiring passion to conserve the natural world. Learning has never been so WILD!

FALL AND WINTER Zoo Camp registration opens September, 15, 2023! Active members will receive their regular discounts when using given codes during the registration process. Be sure to get your Member Discount codes before registering. Contact membership@birminghamzoo.com or education@birminghamzoo.com to verify your Membership and receive your code.

Zoo Staff: All full-time BZI staff members may receive one free week of Summer Zoo Camp per household. Each additional week is half-price. Email education@birminghamzoo.com for your unique discount code.

Additional Scholarships: If you believe you may qualify for a camp scholarship based upon financial need or extenuating circumstances, please email education@birminghamzoo.com for an application.

COVID-19 STATEMENT 
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Birmingham Zoo will continue to monitor CDC and Health Department guidelines and may make changes to our Zoo Camp offerings as the year progresses. The Birmingham Zoo Education Department closely follows state, local, and federal guidelines to ensure the safety of campers, staff, and animals. Precautions include face coverings for all staff, enhanced cleaning procedures, and socially distanced programs.
