While the Birmingham Zoo will be celebrating its 70^th birthday all year long, below are some tips to help you make the most out of your visit. This spring and summer the Birmingham Zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Beginning, Saturday, March 22, here are some key times throughout the day to meet the zookeepers and their amazing animals. Additional popup experiences happen throughout the day so keep an eye out and enjoy your visit. Listings with * charge an additional fee.

9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Red Diamond Express Train*

9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Full Moon Bar-B-Que Adventure Tower*

9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Wild Explorer Virtual Reality Experience*

9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Splash Pad reopens in early May

9:30 a.m. – Animal Farm Walk in Alabama Wilds

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Alabama Wilds animals in the Contact Yard

10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Lorikeet Feedings in the Birds Area*

10:00 to 11:30 a.m. – Kiwanis Giraffe Encounter Feedings*

10:30 a.m. – Reptile Feeding and Keeper Chat in the Reptile Building

11:00 a.m. – Elephant Keeper Chat in front of Wild Burger next to the Elephant Habitat

11:15 a.m. – Ambassador Animals at Gigi’s Porch near the Alabama Wilds Barn

1:00 to 2:30 p.m. – Kiwanis Giraffe Encounter Feedings*

1:00 p.m. – Bongo Keeper Chat in Trails of Africa near the Lion Habitat

1:30 p.m. – Lion Keeper Chat in Trails of Africa

2:00 p.m. Primate Keeper Chat in the Primates and South America Building
