The Birmingham Zoo is pleased to announce the opening of the all-new Full Moon Bar-B-Que Adventure Tower attraction on July 5, 2023. The tower (approximately 24 feet tall) includes two fun attractions: an internal climbing feature with a spiral slide and a rock-climbing wall to delight visitors of all ages who are ready for a wild time.
The new Adventure Tower is an exciting way for guests to challenge themselves as they climb up and down the rock wall. Or, if they choose to climb their way up through the wild webbing, they will then whiz down the twisty slide. Upon completing either of these physical challenges, this attraction uses a wide range of motion and balancing skills as participants stretch to reach the top.
Participants must be at least 42 inches tall, and weigh between 40 and 250 lbs.
“We are ecstatic about the continued commitment from our long-time partner Full Moon Bar-B-Que with this exciting addition of fun, adventure, and exercise,” according to Chris Pfefferkorn, Birmingham Zoo President & CEO. The new tower will be located in the space previously occupied by the Full Moon Bar-B-Que Wild Slide, which was a fan favorite for several years among visitors.
“It is our honor to be a dedicated partner and proud supporter of the Birmingham Zoo for many years now,” states David Maluff, Co-Owner of Full Moon Bar-B-Que. “There is nothing we love more than serving the Birmingham community and helping to bring joy to children,” Co-Owner Joe Maluff added.
Guests are invited to enjoy the new attraction for an additional fee along with all of their other Zoo favorites beginning July 5, 2023.
*All Zoo ride schedules are subject to change daily due to inclement weather and staffing needs.
