Explore and Experience the Natural Wonders of Tanzania on a Great Migration Safari with the Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo is hosting a trip of a lifetime with an extraordinary expedition to Tanzania, from June 11 through June 23, 2020! Join us for a special information session about our Tanzania travel program on Monday, September 23 from 5:30pm until 8:00pm at the Birmingham Zoo’s new Altec-Styslinger Learning Center.

Guests to the information session will also learn how the Birmingham Zoo is partnering with organizations in Africa to conserve wildlife and wild places in the natural world with guest speaker Pratik Patel, Founder and Chairman of The African Wildlife Trust (AWT). The information session is free of cost and will host a meet & greet reception with light refreshments before the presentation. Guests attending the session will have the opportunity to book their spot on the trip with Birmingham Zoo Travel Representatives: Patricia and Richard Ryel of Ryel World Travel – Dream Vacations.

More about the trip…During this unique 2020 excursion, guests will discover some of the most stunning wilderness and ecosystems in the world, during your visit on an unforgettable African safari with Birmingham Zoo’s President & CEO, Chris Pfefferkorn.

The foothills of snowcapped Kilimanjaro and the rugged peak of Mount Meru, the acacia-dotted savannah plains of the Serengeti with the Great Migration, the Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Arusha National Park and the Great Rift Valley—these are but a few of the celebrated places and great national parks that make Tanzania one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Within this unspoiled wilderness we still find huge herds of freely roaming wild creatures.

With the romance of the African wilderness as our stage, we invite you to experience the drama of a truly incredible wildlife adventure. You will be accompanied by expert, naturalist safari guides, who will introduce you to the vast wildlife and culture found in Tanzania.

While on Safari, you will experience the elegant accommodations of your camps and the friendly service of the local staff. Guests will stay in deluxe lodges and safari tented camps, be treated to gourmet meals including a traditional lunch in an African village. Your trip to Tanzania with the Birmingham Zoo, is the ideal journey for a traveler in search of a more private, exclusive experience!
