IBERIABANK ZooGala: South American Sizzle ’n Samba

On Friday, September 13 at 7:00pm until 10:00pm, the Birmingham Zoo will host its largest annual fundraising event, ZooGala 2019: South American Sizzle ’n Samba. Presented by IBERIABANK for the 10th consecutive year, the black-tie optional celebration will be hosted by Honorary Chairs Phyllis and Larry Wojciechowski, with Co-Chairs Jayna Goedecke, Amanda Hawkins and Stewart Jones. ZooGala Advisor Amanda Davis and the industrious ZooGala Committee have been preparing for the much-anticipated event. 2019 will be the first year ZooGala will be held on the Birmingham Zoo’s spectacular, new Hugh Kaul Plaza. Stunning South-American décor and vibrant colors will create an over-the-top, festive “South American market”, complete with Brazilian-inspired street performers and dancers.

Guests will dine on South American-inspired cuisine catered by Kathy G & Company amid magnificent decor by AG Events. Popular dance hits will be performed by musical sensation, Ascension. Guests will be greeted by Zoo Ambassador animals throughout the evening. VIP guests (limited availability) will have exclusive access to an indoor/outdoor experience on the Zoo’s new upper patios and balcony overlooking the party.

ZooGala’s popular online auction will launch Thursday, September 5 and will include exciting travel opportunities, magnificent artwork, timeless jewelry, fine wine and exclusive dining. Attendance at ZooGala is not required to participate in the online auction; registration link will be announced.

IBERIABANK ZooGala 2019 proceeds benefit the Birmingham Zoo’s animal care and educational programs.

IBERIABANK ZooGala 2019 General Admission tickets are $250/person; VIP tickets are $350/person with limited availability and include admission to ZooGala plus exclusive access to air-conditioned comfort throughout a beautiful, new event space, outdoor decks and a balcony overlooking the entire Sizzle ‘n Samba ZooGala party scene! ZooGala 2019 is a 21 and older event and will be held, rain or shine. No ticket refunds will be issued as all sales are final. Animal habitats will be closed during the event.
