Birmingham ZooGala 2017 – The Birmingham Zoo’s Largest Fundraising Event

On Friday, September 15, the Birmingham Zoo will host its largest annual fundraising event, ZooGala 2017 – Mambo with the Macaws, sponsored by IBERIABANK, partner of the Birmingham Zoo. This annual affair will be held in the Zoo’s Junior League of Birmingham – Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo. Guests are invited to mingle and enjoy dinner and dessert by Kathy G. & Company. Zoo Gala will have entertainment including flame throwers, live music by Atlanta Steel Pan and Island Music Trio and The Main Attraction, and stunning décor inspired by a Caribbean style. The occasion will feature a necklace giveaway from Empire Diamond Corporation. Throughout the evening, guests can look forward to special animal walkabouts and greetings.

The 2017 ZooGala online silent auction is now live here and includes exciting travel opportunities, artwork, jewelry, fine wine and dining. In addition, there are donation opportunities to raise funds for member Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) organizations recently impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. This year’s Chairs are Kelly Aland, Myla Calhoun and Britt Redden. Jennifer Ard is this year’s ZooGala Advisor. Honorary chairs are Kelly and Lee Styslinger,III. Birmingham Zoo Members may purchase tickets for $200/person, and non-members may purchase tickets for $250/person. ZooGala proceeds benefit the Birmingham Zoo’s animal care and educational programs. Guests must be 21 years or older. Attire is cocktail; Caribbean flair is encouraged.
