Teen Volunteers Needed for Summer Season at Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo is looking for motivated teenagers to volunteer with the Camp Crew Teen Volunteer Program this summer. The Camp Crew Program is a summer program for teenagers ages 13-17 who are interested in volunteering at the Birmingham Zoo. Teens in this program will have the opportunity to work with teachers and campers during the ZooFari Summer Camps.

Birmingham Zoo Teen Volunteers gain volunteer hours, experience in public speaking, develop leadership skills and more. Participants will be able to learn more about conservation and the natural world, will make new friends and will have the opportunity to move into higher levels of volunteerism at the Zoo.

Teens wishing to get involved as volunteers at the Birmingham Zoo are asked to visit the Zoo’s website to apply. The deadline for teens to submit an application is April 1, 2017. Accepted teens will be expected to attend a mandatory training from 9-5 on April 29, April 30, May 20 or May 21. They will also be required to commit two full weeks (Monday-Friday) to helping with summer camp between the months of May and August.
