Valentine’s Day Enrichment for Animals at Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo will be celebrating Cupid’s holiday the wild way with special Valentine enrichment for the animals on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. From heart-shaped piñatas, ice pops and more, this is sure to be an event that guests of all ages will love.

These romantic treats are part of the Zoo’s animal care program to enrich the lives of the animals, promote natural animal behavior, and keep the animals mentally stimulated while engaging the Zoo visitors. For a schedule of the day’s enrichment activities, please see below. This event is free for Zoo-Members and included in admission for non-members. Guests unable to attend the day-time activities are invited to the Zoo’s annual Woo at the Zoo nighttime event.

9:30am – Rhinos
10am – Red Panda
11am – Red River Hogs
11am – Sea Lions
1pm – North American River Otters
2pm – Bobcat
2pm- Foxes
