Spend Spring Break at the Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo invites the entire community to take part in special activities planned for Spring Break 2015 from March 28 – April 5. Guests are invited to soak up the sun and pay a visit to their favorite Zoo animals this Spring Break at the Birmingham Zoo. Guests are invited to feed the lorikeets (additional cost) in the new, Schaeffer Eye Center Lorikeet Aviary, take a ride on the new Wild Slide (additional cost), glide through Alabama Wilds on the Jane H. Brock Soaring Safari Zipline Adventure (additional cost) and enjoy the new Schaeffer Eye Center Wildlife Shows. Seasonal favorites such as Predator Zone, Junior League of Birmingham – Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo Splash Pads and more are back just in time for the warmer weather. Members and guests can take a memorable camel ride (additional cost) or look in awe at the camels as they move through the exhibit.

In addition to Spring Break activities, the Birmingham Zoo is hosting a variety of Spring Break Camps, lasting from March 30 – April 3. Camp events include exclusive behind-the-scene tours, train and carousel rides, animal demonstrations and a one-of-a-kind learning experience.

From Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5, the Zoo invites the community to a special 60th Anniversary Celebration Weekend. Activities throughout the weekend include special animal enrichments, face painting, giraffe feedings (additional cost) and more. An interactive Get Rhythm® Drum Circle will take place at 11:30am on Saturday, April 4 in Trails of Africa. On Sunday, April 5, guests born in or before 1955 receive FREE admission to the Zoo for that day.

Approximately 950 animals of 230 species call the Birmingham Zoo home, including sea lions, zebras, rhinos and endangered species from six continents. The Birmingham Zoo is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Regular admission is $15* for adults and $10* for senior citizens and children ages 2-12 (*Price not including tax). All Birmingham Zoo Members and children under two-years-old receive free admission.
