Help the Community and Enjoy Half-Price Admission to the Birmingham Zoo on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

On Monday, January 19, the Birmingham Zoo invites the community to give back to those in need in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. By donating any nonperishable or canned food item in support of the Zoo’s United Way Canned Food Drive, visitors will receive half-price admission and can enjoy the Zoo for only $7.50 (plus tax) for adults, $5.00 (plus tax) for senior citizens 65 years and older, and $5.00 (plus tax) for children ages two to twelve-years-old. Children under two-years-old are free. Guests must bring one item per person to receive the discount

On Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Birmingham Zoo guests can take an inner tube ride on the all-new slide*, watch a sea lion training demonstration, take a train* and carousel* ride, enjoy a Children’s ZooKeeper Chat at 1:30pm, participate in a pelican feeding and much more.

*Additional cost

Approximately 950 animals of 230 species call the Birmingham Zoo home, including sea lions, zebras, rhinos and endangered species from six continents. The Birmingham Zoo is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Regular admission is $15* for adults and $10* for senior citizens and children ages 2-12 (*Price not including tax). All Birmingham Zoo Members and children under two-years-old receive free admission.
