It’s that time of year again! The Birmingham Zoo is looking for volunteers to make ZooLight Safari a fun and exciting event for kids and families. This event is sponsored by Wells Fargo. It takes about 30 volunteers per night to make ZooLight Safari a success! I would much appreciate your help in informing eligible students, teachers, friends, family members and others about these upcoming volunteer opportunities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (All positions are assigned the night of volunteering)
The positions below are just some of the many opportunities during Boo at the Zoo:
• Train crossing volunteers
• Winter festivities volunteers (Games & Activities on Henley Park)
• Letters to Santa
ZooLights is an outdoor event. The month of December can be cold; temperatures drop after the sun goes down. What is comfortable at the sign-in time may not be warm enough for later in the evening. Please think about layered clothing, hats, gloves, and scarves to keep you warm. Feel free to wear Santa hats, holiday sweaters, or anything festive.
DINNER AND VALUABLES
Please do not bring anything of value to the Zoo. The Zoo is not responsible for any lost items. The Zoo does not have a place to leave purses or other items. If you leave your items, you will have to be responsible for any losses. Please eat before you come to this event. You should have time for breaks but they may be at odd times due to scheduling.
Please remember to dress according to the weather. If it is raining, please call the Zoo to inquire about the status of ZooLights at 205-879-0409.
