On Thursday, September 9 at 6:45 pm, Honorary Chairs Karen and Phil Carroll and the Carroll Family along with Event Co-Chairs Alexia Borden, Melanie Hennessy, and Jenny McInerney hosted the 2nd virtual ZooRendezvous, presented by IBERIABANK (A Division of First Horizon Bank) for the 12th consecutive year. “The Roaring ’20s” themed virtual event, broadcasted via YouTube and Facebook, and was free and open to everyone. ZooRendezvous’ popular online auction launched on Thursday, September 2.
Prior to the events, the community had the opportunity to pre-order fun food/drink items to include Charcuterie Boards ($500; to be delivered the night of the event; the first 35 will receive a custom-made, commemorative board), and Cocktail Kits ($250), or Dessert Tray ($150) to be picked up at the Zoo September 9 between the time of 12 pm – 5:30 pm.
ZooRendezvous “Roaring ’20s” event proceeds benefit the Birmingham Zoo’s Emergency Animal Fund to provide animal care and feeding. It costs the Zoo $30,000 per day to operate. Without the generous support of caring friends, the Zoo will face a projected $1.5 million revenue loss by the end of the year. Your tax-deductible donation to the Zoo will immediately be put to work to continue to provide enrichment and care for the Zoo’s animals.
