Join us for Zoo Brews on June 10th! Craft beer lovers will enjoy a fantastic selection of beverages from the finest specialty brews and wines. Experience breweries from all over Alabama and the southeast while you travel through the Zoo. Perfect for adults 21 and up, this event is a signature favorite! Attendees will delight in tasty selections from local food truck vendors and the Zoo’s Wild Burger restaurant will be serving full-size beer and wine – all for an additional charge. Whether a Zoo Brews fan or new to the event, we can’t wait to see you for a fun evening at the Zoo!

Your Birmingham Zoo will be open on the Memorial Day holiday, Monday May 29th, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In honor of the holiday, all active and retired military veterans, including their dependents (up to six) will receive FREE admission to the Birmingham Zoo throughout Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 27 through Monday, May 29, with proof of valid military identification.

🎉Your Birmingham Zoo invites you to join us for a Sea Lion Send-Off on Henley Lawn, Saturday, May 27, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to wish Farley and Gio safe travels to their new home! Join our education team on Henley Lawn and learn more about sea lions, how to help marine life in the wild, and hear more about what it takes to transport animals to their new homes! The community will also be able to express their well wishes on a banner that will travel with Farley and Gio to the New England Aquarium where a larger habitat and colony awaits them. The New England Aquarium will collaborate with your Birmingham Zoo for future updates on how the pair are settling in this summer.

🎉Your Birmingham Zoo invites you to Party for the Planet in celebration of Endangered Species Day TODAY, May 20.

This fun-filled educational event will take you around the zoo to learn about how our Zoo works to save species with zoos, aquariums, and partners around the world through AZA’s Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) programs. The event will feature stations highlighting SAFE Species programs throughout the Zoo where visitors will learn about how your Birmingham Zoo is protecting animals in their native habitats and ways you can help endangered species from right here at home. All Endangered Species Day activities are free with paid admission to the Zoo.
