This Saturday, June 3 the Birmingham Zoo will be holding an all-new event, Parrots and Pirates. The community is invited to join the celebration behind the Schaeffer Eye Center Wildlife Stage from 10am-2pm.
Children are encouraged to dress up in their favorite pirate, or parrot, costume for the exciting day when the Zoo’s pirates come alive. All attendees will receive a free eye patch while supplies last and will have a chance to get temporary tattoos. Photo opportunities will be plentiful as several costumed characters will be present to entertain the attendees, as well as photo opportunities with the Zoo’s macaws.
Parrots and Pirates will also feature special keeper chats, animal demonstrations, a DJ providing dance music, arts and crafts, and more. Participants can feed the Zoo’s lorikeets for free from 10am-2pm, can enjoy discounted $2 Pirate Train Rides, $1 Hot Dogs, and a sampling booth provided by Coca-Cola.
Parrots and Pirates is free to Zoo Members and is included in admission for non-members.
