Adopting an animal is as easy as
1-2-3!
- Pick the Animal you would like to Adopt.
- Choose you level of support.
- Fill out the Adoption Form.
The Adopt-An-Animal program benefits the animals directly with all proceeds going toward the care and feeding of the animals at the Zoo! The animal you choose will remain at the Birmingham Zoo, receiving proper care and enjoying the many visitors!

Come by the Zoo's Gift Shop for that one of a kind gift! Purchase the 2007 Go Wild! Zoo Calendar or build an Animal Land plush for your little elf. Enjoy half a million twinkling lights, the ZooLight Express train, a cup of hot cocoa and festive spirit aplenty in Birmingham's holiday tradition, ZooLight Safari. See a wildlife show featuring animals from colder climates, visit the Alabama barn for a holiday photo and pick up a gift membership for your favorite individual/family. Animal exhibits will be closed for ZooLight Safari.
Enrichment Wish List
We need your help! In preparing for Holiday with the Animals on December 16, we need the following items:
holiday gift wrap, non-toxic glue,
non-toxic finger paints and chalk,
colognes/perfumes,
self-rising flour,
empty spray bottles,
and rope (any & all sizes). These items will be used to create enrichment "gifts" for all the animals at the Zoo. If you would like to donate any of these items, please drop your item(s) off at the Zoo's membership office.
