Fox 6 and the Birmingham Zoo Needs You, Your Children, Family and Friends to support the Zoo - LIVE!

Join us as we announce to over a million Fox 6 viewers why the Zoo is the #1 tourist attraction in Alabama. Fox 6 will be highlighting the Zoo On Wednesday, June 7, 2006, LIVE. We will have five segments to showcase YOUR Zoo. Bring your family and friends as we promote the Zoo with Jeh Jeh Pruitt. Breakfast provided - there will be FREE coffee, bottled water, tea and muffins provided by Red Diamond. In addition, we will have educational animal encounters, carousel rides, fun in the fountains (bring swimsuits for the kids!), etc.

Big Snake Day

Get up close and personal with some humongous reptiles! Every year, we take a day to measure and weigh the largest snakes in our collection – anacondas, reticulated pythons and more. Visitor participation is required for this big task!

Keeper Encounters 2006

June 13, 6 pm; Encounter: Animal Health Center
Meet Zoo Keepers, learn about their unusual jobs and have an up-close animal encounter! Includes keeper talk and behind the scenes of the specific department.

Cost: $8 per individual for Zoo members or AAZK members (please bring proof of membership)
$10 per individual for nonmembers
