Enjoy a fabulous night of lights, fun and holiday spirit as the Birmingham Zoo comes alive for 15 nights! It’s the only place in Birmingham where it snows every night. Also, enjoy an expanded light show synchronized to all your favorite holiday tunes!

Santa and snow will be appearing nightly!

Be sure to stop at the Barn in the Children’s Zoo for photo opportunities, animals and holiday crafts for all to enjoy. Ride the train (additional charge) to experience a winter wonderland. Enjoy half a million lights, holiday music and plenty of festive spirit. The Zoo will close at 4 pm every night of ZooLight Safari. Animal exhibits will be closed during ZooLight Safari.

Holiday with the Animals

December 15, 10 am to 2 pm

Watch the animals unwrap enrichment gifts and, just like the kids, spend more time playing with the boxes! Zookeepers will be giving presents to the animals all day. Also, celebrate Babec the Gorilla and Kwanza the Lion's birthdays (both during December) during this festive day.

Schedule of Activities:

10 am - Children's Zoo - River Otters presents
11 am - Predators - Kwanza's Birthday Bash (lion)
12 pm - Savannah - Giraffe presents
1 pm - Primates - Babec's Birthday Bash (gorilla)
2 pm - Pachyderm - Rhino presents
